President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order that has renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America. This decision is part of his ongoing dispute with Canada.
A survey carried out by Ipsos and Reuters, released on Tuesday, reveals that a majority of Americans do not support this renaming. The poll indicates that 63 percent of those surveyed disapprove of the change. Meanwhile, 14 percent expressed their approval.
Interestingly, 21 percent of respondents either were not aware of the name change or had no definite opinion on the matter. The photo illustration from August 30th highlights Google Maps now labeling Lake Ontario as Lake America, reflecting these changes.
