The tone of Michigan’s Senate race intensified following a statement from Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. His remarks came on the heels of Vice President JD Vance adding fuel to the political fire earlier this week.
During a rally in Detroit on August 7, El-Sayed directly blamed President Donald Trump for what he termed a ‘mismanagement’ of economic policies. This criticism arose in response to a global sell-off of bonds observed recently.
El-Sayed argued that traders were offloading bonds due to concerns over increasing expenses caused by Trump’s policy decisions. He highlighted Trump’s ‘war of choice’ and trade war as key factors contributing to rising costs.
El-Sayed expressed frustration over Trump’s pressure on the Federal Reserve. According to him, this pressure hindered the Fed’s ability to act effectively in the face of growing inflation, which he attributed to Trump’s actions.
