On Thursday, several prominent US AI firms faced service disruptions. Users and company status pages reported outages impacting OpenAI, Anthropic PBC, and SpaceXAI.
Tens of thousands of users experienced issues with OpenAI services. Downdetector, an outage-tracking service, recorded these reports. OpenAI is currently investigating elevated error rates affecting its ChatGPT chatbot and Codex AI coding tool.
Anthropic informed users that some of its models recovered after initial disruptions. However, the company continues to resolve issues with its Opus 4.8 and Opus 5 AI products.
SpaceXAI, owned by Elon Musk, also reported outages. Its chatbot, Grok, is encountering service problems per their status page.
