Chantel expressed her frustration through an Instagram post following the Titans’ loss to the New York Giants, which left the team without a win. She emphasized that the backlash wasn’t only targeting her brother. The family’s experiences reveal the darker side of fame and expectations from fans.

“After games, people come directly to my DMs on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with threats, hate, bullying, personal attacks, and disrespect toward me and my family – all over football,” Chantel Ward wrote.

Chantel acknowledged that criticism is inherent in sports. Poor performance results in fallout, but she argues that personal attacks on family members cross the line.

She reminded her audience that while Cam Ward might be seen as a player to the fans, he is her brother. Her role has always been to support and protect him since childhood. Hence, personal and disrespectful messages are difficult for her to ignore.

Chantel shared a troubling exchange she received, highlighting the severe nature of the messages. Although she didn’t disclose specific threats, she insists on the frequency and intensity of these interactions.

“Criticize football all you want,” she wrote. “But threats, harassment, bullying, and attacking someone’s family will never be just part of the game.”
