Nicole Parker, a Fox News contributor and former FBI special agent, addressed the case of Lynette Hooker, a Michigan woman who disappeared during a vacation in the Bahamas. Lynette, 55, vanished six months ago while on a sailing trip with her husband. The last reported sighting of her was on April 4.
Lynette’s husband, Brian Hooker, informed investigators that Lynette went overboard from a dinghy in Hope Town after they had gone out for drinks. They were returning to their sailboat, ‘Soulmate,’ when the incident occurred.
Brian was detained by Bahamian authorities for questioning but was later released. There are no charges or accusations of wrongdoing against him.
Parker emphasized that although the public might not see every detail, investigations are ongoing behind the scenes. The U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service is leading efforts, having seized ‘Soulmate’ in May for further examination.
Their investigation extended to deploying divers in June to search for clues. The couple’s dinghy was brought back to the U.S. for forensic analysis.
“Certain pieces of evidence were sent to the FBI lab and Quantico for analysis, and that takes time,” Parker explained.
Parker highlighted the complexity of reconstructing a possible crime scene in maritime conditions. Despite public impatience, investigators are methodically working to piece together evidence.
Lynette’s mother, Darlene Hamlett, believes her daughter made it back to ‘Soulmate’ before disappearing and suspects foul play. However, she is restrained by the Coast Guard from discussing specifics publicly.
The U.S. Coast Guard continues to investigate diligently. Parker assured that continuous efforts are in place to uncover the truth of Lynette’s disappearance.
Brian Hooker, who is residing with his mother in Citrus Heights, California, has been observed engaging in routine activities such as walking dogs and running errands. He has not commented publicly on the case recently.
Fox News Digital has attempted to reach Brian Hooker’s attorney for further comments, but the FBI and Coast Guard have declined to provide details.
