Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott celebrated the Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary by ringing the Closing Bell at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City. The network, which debuted on October 7, 1996, was represented by original hosts Lauren Green, Trace Gallagher, Steve Doocy, and Brit Hume. Several executives, including FOX News Media President and Executive Editor Jay Wallace, also attended the event.
Scott expressed the significance of the occasion, stating, “It’s a tremendous honor to be here at NASDAQ as we celebrate a remarkable milestone, 30 years of Fox News.” She spoke about the original vision of Fox Corporation Chairman Emeritus Rupert Murdoch, noting how his idea to provide balance in national media has expanded into a multi-platform digital and streaming powerhouse, impacting over 200 million people monthly.
“Milestones like this are about recognizing the people behind our success,” Scott remarked. She highlighted the dedication of the Fox News team and their connection with viewers who have integrated Fox News into their daily lives.
Scott, who joined Fox News in its first year, has seen the network achieve top cable ratings and frequently surpass broadcast networks. Under her leadership since 2018, Fox News has continued to grow and innovate across various platforms. This includes the launch of FOX News Books in 2020 and new streaming services like FOX Nation, FOX News International, and FOX Weather.
The Closing Bell ceremony was marked by the presence of notable figures and the presentation of a Closing Bell crystal by Nasdaq Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas, who praised FOX News Media as one of the most recognized media brands globally.
Under Scott’s leadership, Fox News has continuously expanded its reach and embraced new formats. Her ongoing efforts have included launching FOX News Books and refreshing FOX News Digital and other platforms.
Scott concluded her remarks with gratitude towards viewers and colleagues, celebrating Fox News’ achievements over the past 30 years.
