The highly anticipated X Division Championship match at Bound for Glory brought excitement as Amazing Red added another title reign to his legacy. Originally planned as a six-man match featuring BDE, KC Navarro, Ryan Nemeth, Fabian Aichner, Rich Swann, and Cedric Alexander, the event turned chaotic with the late entry of Amazing Red.
Leon Slater vacated the X Division title after cashing in “Option C” for a chance at the TNA World Championship, setting the stage for this intense scramble. Before the match, Amazing Red, an inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame alongside Konnan and ODB, expressed his determination to compete in the bout. His entry transformed the contest into a seven-man brawl, increasing the unpredictability and intensity within the ring.
BDE and Swann initially took control, showcasing their tag team prowess to keep Amazing Red at bay. However, KC Navarro aimed for victory by hitting Fabian Aichner with standout moves such as the 305 and Blessing in Disguise. Yet, Ryan Nemeth disrupted his pin attempt by interfering with the referee, leading to Navarro retaliating against Nemeth outside the ring.
Returning to the ring, Navarro faced off with Amazing Red. With veteran experience on his side, Amazing Red executed a Spanish Fly, followed by the Code Red, successfully pinning Navarro and claiming the X Division Championship. This marked Amazing Red’s fourth title win, a significant achievement since his last reign in September 2010, when he briefly held the championship before losing it to Jay Lethal.
In the history of the X Division Championship, Amazing Red’s four reigns rank eighth, behind notable champions like Chris Sabin, Austin Aries, Jay Lethal, A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, Low Ki, and Frankie Kazarian, who have held the title more frequently.
