Apple Reveals Foldable iPhone Duo and iOS 27 Updates

1 hour ago 0

Apple has announced its new foldable iPhone Duo, creating a stir despite its $1,999 price tag. On Varney & Co., Taylor Riggs discussed the phone’s dual-screen features and slim design. Stuart Varney expressed his eagerness to buy the smartphone, which tops at $3,000 for a model with two terabytes of storage.

Apple is addressing a common photo-sharing issue with iOS 27. Photos in Shared Albums now keep their original formats and resolutions. This solves the blurry image problem often caused by photo compression during sharing. Previously, Shared Albums limited photos to 2,048 pixels and videos to 720p. Now, newly added photos maintain their quality.

To enable Shared Albums on an iPhone:

Access Settings
Go to your name
Select iCloud
Under Saved to iCloud, tap Photos
Ensure iCloud Photos is activated
Scroll down to activate Shared Albums

Creating a full-resolution Shared Album in iOS 27 involves:

Opening the Photos app
Selecting Collections
Tapping Shared Albums
Pressing the + button
Giving the album a name
Adding photos or videos
Setting sharing options

Photos in these albums keep their original resolution. Shared Albums now impact the owner’s iCloud storage but not items added before the update.

Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel users have Quick Share to send original files directly. To use Quick Share on Galaxy:

Open the Gallery app
Select a photo or video
Tap Share
Choose Quick Share
Select a nearby device for transfer

Pixel phones offer a similar Quick Share process for immediate transfers.

Quick Share also works between Android and certain Apple devices using AirDrop settings. This requires the recipient to allow connections for a short period.

Full-resolution sharing uses more storage space. Check your iCloud storage regularly. Original quality is crucial for prints and cropping, though some compression may suffice for casual sharing.

Kurt Knutsson praises the iOS 27 update for improved photo-sharing quality. Users now have better options to maintain image detail. For high-quality results, pay attention to your sharing method. Storage management is essential, especially with videos. Original files are preferable for lasting memories.
