The world still relies on human authors to produce unique and creative ideas. The importance of creativity remains crucial, especially in generating imaginative stories.

Three personal facts about myself that might surprise you: I stand at 6 feet 2 inches tall without shoes. My laughter tends to be loud, even piercing. I steer clear of apologizing to furniture.

This is why I found a strong connection with Auntie Marsha, the protagonist of “The Serpent in the Grove.” This story is one of the five regional winners of the 2026 Commonwealth Short Story Prize.
