President Donald Trump announced plans to nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to become the permanent leader of the Department of Justice. This announcement was made on Wednesday evening.
The announcement came through a video posted on social media by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino. In the video, President Trump shared his intention to make Blanche’s role permanent after Blanche served in an interim capacity following the dismissal of former Attorney General Pam Bondi in early April.
“Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan [Scavino] and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent Attorney General,” Trump stated in the video. The recording took place during a dinner at the White House Rose Garden Club on Wednesday evening.
