Next Sunday could signal the start of Aaron Rodgers’ final season in the NFL. The four-time MVP has returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal. The conversation around his potential retirement has gained momentum, with new insights into his future plans.
At 42, Rodgers has expressed a desire to start a family soon after stepping away from the game. On SiriusXM, the quarterback mentioned hopes of supporting his pregnant wife by this time next year.
“I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements,” Rodgers told SiriusXM’s “Mad Dog Radio.” “I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”
Rodgers clarified his comments further, stating, “I’m hoping that I have a pregnant wife by next year this time.”
In recent times, Rodgers reconnected with family members after a period of estrangement. This reconnection has influenced his family plans. He has enjoyed spending time with his brother’s children and looks forward to having children of his own.
“I’m definitely excited about it,” Rodgers noted. “Being back in my family’s lives, I’m having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron. I have a few godkids that I’m involved with, but being Uncle Aaron to my brother’s kids has been a lot of fun.”
Rodgers continued, “The more I’m around them, the more I get excited, and so does the wife, about having some of our own. So, I’m excited for that next chapter of life.”
He anticipates the changes and challenges that parenthood brings, expressing enthusiasm for caring for his future children.
Since his marriage announcement, Rodgers has been protective of his wife’s privacy. He describes her as a “private person,” keeping her out of the public eye.
