Alan Ritchson and Wife Announce Separation After 20 Years

Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine have announced their decision to part ways after two decades of marriage. They revealed the news in a joint Instagram post, sharing that they have “decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way.”

The couple, who grew up and built a life together, emphasized their commitment to raising their three sons. They wrote, “Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us or the love and respect we will always share.”

Moving forward, Alan and Catherine expressed their intention to maintain “friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.” They asked for privacy and compassion as they navigate this transition, particularly for the well-being of their family.

According to TMZ, court documents indicate that Ritchson filed for divorce in December, with a reconciliation attempt occurring in March before they officially announced their separation in September.

Alan and Catherine first met in high school, broke up, and later reconnected while in college. They got married in May 2006 and have three sons: Calem, Edan, and Amory.

Alan Ritchson gained fame through his role in “Smallville” and furthered his career with appearances in “Blue Mountain State,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “Titans.” His most notable role came in 2022 when he portrayed Jack Reacher on the Amazon Prime series “Reacher.”

In an interview with GQ in January 2024, Ritchson shared his thoughts on the show, explaining how he shared it with his children and how it became a family favorite.
