Attorney Defends Juror’s Decision in Lindsay Clancy’s Murder Trial

3 days ago 0

The attorney representing the sole holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is contesting allegations that his client disregarded legal instructions. In an interview with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, attorney Edward Paltzik emphasized the juror’s confidence in his verdict and rejected claims of non-compliance.

During a segment of “Fox & Friends,” McEnany questioned Paltzik regarding juror Michael P. Desronvil’s certainty about the trial’s outcome. She referenced a note from the jury foreperson accusing Desronvil of ignoring the law concerning reasonable doubt.

“Michael had zero doubt,” Paltzik affirmed.

McEnany followed up by asking if Desronvil supported his decision with evidence, to which Paltzik replied,

“A lot of evidence. A mountain of evidence.”

Desronvil stood alone after seven days of deliberations in Clancy’s trial. Eleven jurors were inclined to acquit the former nurse based on insanity, while Desronvil favored conviction. As a result, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4.

Lindsay Clancy admitted to the January killings of her three children, ages 5, 3, and 8 months, in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Her defense cited postpartum psychosis in her plea of not criminally responsible. Meanwhile, prosecutors asserted that Clancy’s actions were planned and deliberate.

Afterward, Desronvil articulated his stance, stating that the evidence indicated Clancy’s awareness of her deeds. Prosecutors have yet to decide on a retrial, and Clancy’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 29.

For the complete interview, viewers can tune into “Fox & Friends” on Monday. Stepheny Price contributes to Fox News, covering crime stories and security matters on both national and international scales.
