Troubling Situation for American Tourists
According to Sunil Sharma, a spokesperson for Nepal’s tourism board, 47 American tourists are among the missing after the disaster. The U.S. State Department has not verified the exact number but is closely monitoring developments. To support affected communities, the department is sending a disaster response adviser and has apportioned $500,000 in aid through Catholic Relief Services.
