The Baltimore Ravens made key roster changes on Tuesday signaling a possible return for rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. The team released wide receiver Chris Moore and removed Xavier Guillory from the practice squad.
Lane, who fractured his wrist during his first regular-season game with the Ravens in Week 1, may return from injured reserve this week. It’s expected that Moore will join the practice squad while Lane reclaims a spot on the 53-man active roster.
Head coach Jesse Minter hasn’t discounted Lane’s participation in Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns. Minter praised Lane’s progress, saying, “Ja’Kobi’s done a really good job. When you’re on IR, how much can you do physically to be ready to play that first week back? He’s in a real good place from a conditioning standpoint. We’ll see how that shakes out on Wednesday.”
During training camp, Lane impressed many, including quarterback Lamar Jackson. Once back, Lane is expected to play a significant role in the Ravens’ passing game.
Sunday’s matchup against the Browns is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
