Brooks Nader is making waves in the entertainment world as she takes on a role in the much-anticipated ‘Baywatch’ reboot. Surprisingly, her conservative parents, who once imposed a strict ban on bikinis, are now fully supportive of her donning the iconic one-piece red swimsuit.
Nader, a Sports Illustrated model and actress, turned heads at the FOX Upfront in New York City. She promoted the upcoming ‘Baywatch’ reboot and shared the amusing reason behind her family’s approval. According to Nader, the family rule of avoiding two-piece bikinis aligns perfectly with the one-piece swimsuit featured in the series.
“Well, they’re pumped about ‘Baywatch’ because it’s a one-piece [swimsuit] — we weren’t allowed to wear two-piece bikinis growing up,” Nader told Fox News Digital.
Nader will portray Selene, a captain of the Zuma Beach Lifeguards, in the FOX revival of the famed series. This role follows the legacy set by Pamela Anderson, who became a global icon in the 1990s through the original ‘Baywatch’ series.
Addressing the historical impact of the series, Nader acknowledges the pressure of following in Anderson’s footsteps. She expressed her admiration for Anderson, calling her a muse and noting the significant task of honoring previous ‘Baywatch’ icons.
“Pamela Anderson was the muse of all muses, and she’s been on my vision board forever. So, we’re going to pay homage to Pam and all the muses of ‘Baywatch’ to the best of our ability.”
The original ‘Baywatch’ aired from 1989 to 1999, featuring stars like David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and others. The reboot seeks to introduce new audiences to the beloved beach drama.
In addition to Nader, influencers Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne will join the reboot, aiming to broaden the show’s appeal. The involvement of fresh faces is expected to enhance the reach of the series.
Reflecting on the project’s excitement, Nader stated, “I feel like there’s so much anticipation and everyone has to wait until January, but I think it’s only going to build, the momentum is going to build.”
Online buzz around the reboot suggests strong anticipation from fans eager to see how the series pays homage to the original while integrating new narratives. The reboot is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
