The Buffalo Bills maintained their strong offensive performance in Week 2, achieving a 41-31 victory against the Detroit Lions during “Thursday Night Football.” In a setback, however, the team lost a key asset as wide receiver DJ Moore exited the game due to a shoulder injury incurred during a touchdown attempt in the second quarter.
According to Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network, Moore did not return after the injury. He completed the game without receptions, securing his only attempt for -1 yard.
In Week 1 against the Houston Texans, Moore excelled by securing five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown, contributing significantly to the Bills’ 36-21 win. His acquisition stemmed from an offseason trade with the Chicago Bears, where the Bills exchanged a second-round pick for Moore and a fifth-round pick.
Following the recent win, Bills head coach Joe Brady praised Moore’s performance and the value he brought to the team, stating, “You see the reason we brought him here–the capability he has to make plays down the field.” Brady highlighted the uncredited impact of Moore’s involvement, such as drawing a pass interference penalty, and acknowledged the effective collaboration between quarterback Josh Allen and the receiving corps.
In Moore’s absence, Allen targeted Dalton Kincaid, who led the team’s receiving effort with seven catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Keon Coleman also contributed substantially, collecting six receptions for 63 yards, while Joshua Palmer added a 43-yard touchdown reception.
