California Democrats Propose Tax Increases

Larry Kudlow addresses California Democrats’ plans for substantial tax hikes. These proposals include taxes on private health insurance, software purchases, wealth, and income. According to Steve Moore, these taxes have contributed to nearly two million people leaving California in the past decade.

Residents have ‘voted with their feet’ to escape these taxing policies.

British actress Lesley-Anne Down is among those who have left California. Downs cites wildfires and liberal politics as reasons for moving to Georgia.

Lesley-Anne Down’s Journey

Lesley-Anne Down lived in California for over 40 years after arriving to pursue an acting career. She became dissatisfied with the political and environmental conditions and chose a quieter life in Georgia. Her decision came after facing continuous wildfires and political shifts.

Down, known for roles in The Pink Panther Strikes Again and The Great Train Robbery, felt her surroundings changed over time in Malibu. Initially, the area was picturesque but was marred by fires and erosion.

During her first ten years in Malibu, there was only one notable fire. However, fire incidents became more frequent, culminating in the Woolsey fire in 2018, prompting her decision to leave the state.

Political Landscape and Personal Views

Down expressed discomfort with California’s political changes and the industry’s political pressures. She believes the United States is adopting similar trends to Britain regarding political correctness.

Down has openly endorsed Steve Hilton, a gubernatorial candidate, for his smart leadership. Her political beliefs, she asserts, have affected her opportunities within the industry.

Despite not always aligning politically with current trends, she accepted a role as Margaret Thatcher in the 2024 biopic Reagan, which marked her transition to Atlanta.

She lists Hollywood’s changes over the years as a reason for her dissatisfaction and claims filmmakers like those who worked on Reagan belong to the ‘old school’ she appreciates.

Settling Into the Georgia Lifestyle

Down now enjoys life in Georgia, surrounded by nature and a caring community. She shares her enjoyment of feeding deer near her home.

Although she cherishes memories from Malibu, she does not regret leaving due to fires and political factors. Her stance against polarizing political conversations highlights a preference for open, respectful dialogue.

Lesley-Anne Down embraces her new life while understanding the challenges of past experiences.
