Country music star Carly Pearce has shared her personal stance on not having children, stating quite clearly that it’s not part of her future plans. Earlier this week, Pearce answered a fan’s query on TikTok regarding her views on raising children and the possibility of remarriage.
Pearce, 36, was previously married to singer Michael Ray for one year before the two parted ways in 2020. The singer expressed her heartfelt affection for children but pointed out how motherhood was never her ambition. She stated, “Maybe some of you out here are like me. I always feel bad saying that I actually don’t want children. I love children, I love my friends’ children, I’m a great aunt. But, it was never my dream.”
Pearce further explained that her aspirations revolved around country music and performing on the road. She mentioned, “I think we should normalize people that truly know they don’t want to have kids. I don’t think it should be for everyone just because society tells us to. So, I don’t want children and I’m totally okay with that.”
On the topic of remarriage, Pearce had a positive outlook. She showed no aversion to marrying again despite her divorce from Michael Ray. Speaking on the matter, she confidently stated, “So what I was divorced. It was my start-up marriage and now I get to have the real one.”
After posting her views, Pearce received an outpouring of support from her fans on TikTok. They praised her for staying true to her choices. Comments included, “People who don’t want children shouldn’t have children. More power to you!” and “It is totally ok that is not your dream! Be you!”
Pearce’s journey with Michael Ray began in 2018 when she initiated contact through social media. Their relationship quickly evolved, leading to an engagement in December 2018 and a marriage in October 2019. Unfortunately, the union was short-lived, and Pearce filed for divorce less than a year later in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in September 2020.
Since then, Pearce has moved on and is currently in a relationship with Jordan Karcher, who founded Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co. Their relationship became public in July 2025 when they revealed it on Instagram.
