Charles Snowden Suspended for Three Games in 2026 NFL Season

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Charles Snowden faces a three-game suspension at the start of the 2026 NFL season. This follows a DUI incident from 2024 that he recently resolved by accepting a plea agreement, confirmed by an NFL spokesperson to Fox News Digital.

Snowden will be absent from three games: the season opener on the road against the New York Giants, the home opener against the Washington Commanders, and another home game against the Baltimore Ravens. However, he remains eligible to participate in the Cowboys’ preseason lineup, which includes three games. The suspension takes effect once team rosters finalize to 53 players.

In January, Snowden reached a plea agreement related to the 2024 DUI arrest. He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge, agreeing to pay a $1,000 fine and attend coroner’s and DUI courses. Completion of these terms will lead to a reduction of his charge to reckless driving.

The Cowboys acquired Snowden as a free agent this offseason, following a minicamp tryout invitation. Originally, Snowden entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from Virginia, signing with the Chicago Bears in 2021. He played briefly in two games and did not participate in the regular seasons of 2022 or 2023.

During 2024 and 2025, Snowden played for the Las Vegas Raiders. His standout performance came last year with three sacks, 28 combined tackles, five tackles for loss, and one interception over 15 games, where he started nine times.
