Chef Todd Stein’s Latest Venture
Todd Stein, a celebrated Chicago chef, introduces his newest venture, Juniper. Located at 200 Green Bay Road in Highwood, Juniper marks Stein’s return to the North Shore. An amalgamation of supper club ambiance and local hang-out vibes, Juniper offers diners a sophisticated dining experience with American classics and a curated sushi program.
Restaurant Atmosphere and Design
The atmosphere at Juniper incorporates deep blues and the juniper hues native to Illinois. With wood-grained accents, the space is enriched by a 35-foot mural of Lake Michigan. This artistic element connects to Stein’s cherished memories of growing up in Highland Park and enjoying visits to Rosewood Beach.
Culinary Highlights
Juniper’s menu boasts Stein’s elevated American classics. Dishes such as Filet Mignon Sliders, Mini Lobster Rolls, Rotisserie Chicken, and Ribeye Steak Frites balance nostalgia with meticulous preparation. Additionally, a dedicated sushi program led by Executive Sushi Chef Akira Yang offers classic rolls alongside premium sashimi and nigiri.
Diverse Dining Experience
Juniper accommodates multiple dining styles. The restaurant features a chic main dining room, a secluded sushi bar, private dining spaces, and patio options for outdoor dining in warmer months.
Vision and Partnership
Chef Stein partnered with General Manager TJ Bachmeyer to bring Juniper to life. Their shared vision of hospitality focuses on making guests feel at home, whether they’re stopping by for cocktails, dinner on a weeknight, or celebrating special events.
“We want every guest to feel genuinely welcomed,” Stein said.
Juniper represents a shared dream between Stein and Bachmeyer, reflecting their belief in hospitality as an element where everything seamlessly aligns.
