On Wednesday, Chevron shared its strategy to significantly boost its crude output in Venezuela. This move comes as the company faces competition from a substantial new oil initiative established by the Trump administration alongside a local rival.
Chevron has disclosed its ambitious aim to amplify its presence in Venezuela. The objective is to double production there within a five-year time frame. This would raise its output to reach 600,000 barrels per day. This amount is nearly half of Venezuela’s total current oil exports.
To achieve these goals, Chevron plans to invest $7 billion. This sizable investment underlines the company’s commitment to expanding its Venezuelan operations despite the competitive challenges presented by the collaboration between its largest local competitor and the Trump administration.
