China’s First Fully Robot-Serviced Hotel Set to Open in 2027

Pudu Robotics has unveiled plans for what it calls the first “full-scenario robot-serviced hotel.” The hotel will integrate robots throughout the guest experience, including reception, room service, cleaning, food preparation, and guest support. Set to launch in 2027, trial rooms and robot-powered services are anticipated to start by late 2026. Early guests will have the opportunity to experience robot check-in and autonomous in-room delivery before the full opening.

Hotel Location

The hotel will be located on West Artificial Island, which is part of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in Guangdong Province. This area is known for being a hub of technology within China, making it an appropriate location for such an innovative project. Room-service delivery robots are already in use in many major Chinese cities.

Roles of Robots

The hotel will feature 44 high-end rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and other guest spaces. Robots will manage various duties, from reception and room service to cleaning, food preparation, and guest support. Guests will be able to check in with a robot, have luggage delivered, and order refreshments through their smartphones, bypassing the front desk.

Cleaning robots equipped with AI technologies will detect waste and maintain room cleanliness. All robots will be connected through a shared intelligence framework, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Robot Technology

Pudu’s FlashBot will manage an intelligent vending system, allowing guests to order drinks via smartphone. The PUDU T300 will transport luggage, while the PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1 will handle cleaning tasks, utilizing AI for waste detection. At the launch event in Shenzhen, robots like BellaBot Pro and KettyBot Pro showcased their capabilities by serving refreshments.

AI Integration in Hotel Operations

The hotel will depend on PuduFM 1.0, the company’s foundation model for embodied intelligence, to run its operations. PuduAgent will oversee intelligent operations throughout the hotel. This initiative presents an important step toward integrating AI and robotics in hospitality, exploring new service models for connected experiences.

Rapid Development in China

The hotel represents a new phase in China’s adoption of service robots, already prevalent in hotels, restaurants, and public spaces. Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development aims to establish West Artificial Island as a robotics and technology destination. The hotel is part of a broader plan to incorporate more robotics into tourism and hospitality over the next four years.

If successful, the hotel could redefine travel expectations, offering faster check-in and automated deliveries.
