Country Star Jelly Roll Files for Divorce from Bunnie Xo

The country singer Jelly Roll has initiated divorce proceedings from his wife, Bunnie Xo. Court documents filed in Williamson County, Tennessee, reveal that the decision was made on May 18, with Jelly Roll indicating a separation date of May 9.

The couple, who married in August 2016 in Las Vegas, cited irreconcilable differences as the cause. Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie—whose real name is Alisa DeFord—became a stepmother to his children, Bailee and Noah.

The pair was last seen publicly together displaying affection during the 2026 Grammy Awards. Jelly Roll had previously won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Country Album, acknowledging Bunnie on stage.

Bunnie Xo, well-known for her podcast, ‘Dumb Blonde’, has detailed their relationship dynamics in her memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic. She highlighted their turbulent relationship, shaped by her chaotic upbringing and the emotional rollercoaster that marked their early years.

Bunnie expressed disappointment upon discovering Jelly Roll’s infidelity early in their marriage. According to her, his ex-fling was waiting in a nearby hotel room, which left her devastated.

Despite some initial distrust and the challenges they faced, Bunnie emphasized their non-traditional approach to marriage given their pasts—she as a working girl and Jelly Roll as an ex-drug dealer.

Tensions escalated when they sought therapy, leading to heated exchanges rather than reconciliation. During therapy, they faced unresolved anger and hurt, making it seem their relationship was beyond repair.

Nevertheless, the couple chose to reconcile and grow together, committing to break past generational cycles. In 2023, they renewed their vows in Las Vegas where they first tied the knot, showing their devotion to each other.

Bunnie underscored their commitment to each other despite evolving personalities over the years. They have learned to deal with life challenges together, allowing openness and non-judgment to guide their relationship.
