Dan Dakich Criticizes Indiana Fever Coach Over GOP Letter Response

Sports analyst Dan Dakich has criticized Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White for her response to a GOP letter sent to the WNBA. The letter raises issues about Caitlin Clark’s treatment and suggests racially motivated attacks against her. Dakich questions why the coach did not defend her star player and why the league has given little support, despite Congress addressing the matter.

In a related note, the Indiana Fever secured a third consecutive victory with a commanding 123-88 win over the Connecticut Sun. Caitlin Clark, announced recently as an NBA 2K27 cover athlete, led with 27 points and 11 assists, achieving a double-double. Teammate Kelsey Mitchell contributed 23 points, while the team set a franchise record for points in a game. Aliyah Boston, the top pick of the 2023 WNBA Draft, added 22 points for the team.

The Fever achieved the biggest half in franchise history, leading with a score of 70-46 at halftime. This was the third-highest scoring game in WNBA history, excluding overtime. Monique Billings and Tyasha Harris each scored 12 points, and the Fever made 11 of 22 shots from three-point range.

Despite not being invited to the WNBA 3-Point Contest, Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu spoke about her absence, saying, “never officially got invited.” Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark managed 21 points by halftime before heading to the locker room. Upcoming events include the All-Star weekend, where Clark, Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell will represent Indiana in Chicago. The Fever’s recent victory improved their standing to 17-10, placing them at the top of the Eastern Conference by a narrow half-game margin over Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream.
