In an unexpected move, Dannon recently discontinued their much-loved coffee yogurt flavor as of April 1, reads a Change.org petition urging Dannon to bring back coffee yogurt. This has left countless fans of this unique and delicious product in dismay. Coffee yogurt provided a delightful blend of rich coffee flavor and creamy yogurt, a perfect option for those seeking a pick-me-up in a healthy and satisfying snack.

A 5.3-ounce serving of Dannon’s coffee yogurt, known as “DCY,” contained about 32 milligrams of caffeine. This is roughly a third of the caffeine in an 8-ounce cup of coffee. It also had 11 grams of added sugar, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Doron Zeif, a lawyer from New Jersey, consumed DCY for 40 years. He said, “It’s what I got out of bed for.” Others share his sentiment, urging Dannon to return the beloved product to shelves.

Lisa Signorelli, a retiree from New York, often bought it in bulk to satisfy her long-standing love for the flavor. The petition states that discontinuing this flavor removed a cherished option for yogurt lovers, especially those who love the distinct taste of coffee. Social media users agree with this sentiment.

One Reddit user wrote, “I’m going through serious withdrawal symptoms now that Dannon has discontinued their coffee yogurt, which I have been happily eating for years.” They advised exploring other brands, but acknowledged the unique texture of Dannon’s offering.

In the words of another user, “My grandmother, who passed away in 2011, had one every day. It was a treat when she’d share it with me as a kid, and now it serves as a special memory. It’s also the best flavor! Please bring it back!”

Some have tried to replicate the yogurt by adding coffee to other Dannon yogurts. One commenter suggested contacting the company directly, noting, “A human being actually picks up the phone.” On the Dannon Coffee Yogurt Fanatics Facebook page, fans exchange tips to mimic DCY’s flavor.

One person shared, “I tried DIY DCY, but none made the cut. My son-in-law convinced me to try Icelandic Provisions Cold Brew Coffee Skyr, and within days I was hooked.” They added that DCY would now seem too sweet by comparison.

Despite the current absence, there might be hope. Rafael Acevedo, president of Dannon’s yogurt division, mentioned that the yogurt might return in a new form to align with current consumer preferences.

Dannon’s Instagram post asked followers to direct message them for updates. Comments revealed deep emotional connections with the product, such as one user remembering cherished moments with a grandparent who enjoyed DCY daily.

Although Dannon declined to comment further, fans continue to express nostalgic longing for the product’s return.
