Debate Over Trump’s Proposed Triumphal Arch Near Arlington Cemetery

In response to Jim Webb’s opinion piece on June 30, titled “Congress must decide on Trump’s gigantic arch,” strong opposition has emerged against the proposed monument. This perspective comes from someone with deep ties to the military community.

A Marine Corps combat veteran, whose family boasts nearly two centuries of military service, vocally opposes the triumphal arch planned for the proximity of Arlington National Cemetery. The veteran argues that such a structure would overshadow the sacred burial grounds of countless military personnel and their relatives.
