Democratic Candidate Exits Maine Senate Race Amid Allegations

1 month ago 0

The Democratic nominee, Graham Platner, has withdrawn from the Senate race in Maine. This has created an urgent need to find a replacement for his position on the ballot.

Platner’s decision comes after he faced increasing pressure to leave the race. The pressure stemmed from a sexual assault accusation by a former partner. Additionally, another former girlfriend alleged that he had repeatedly removed protection without her consent during intercourse.

With Platner’s withdrawal, the Maine Democratic Party now has a deadline until July 27. They must choose another nominee by this date to continue their electoral campaign.
