Democrats Face Criticism for Handling of Allegations Against Senate Candidate

1 month ago 0

Dan Bongino, a former FBI Deputy Director, has criticized leading Democrats for prioritizing “power” over principles. He argues that many have distanced themselves from Senate candidate Graham Platner after deciding his chances of winning are minimal.

“There were no principles involved here at all,” Bongino stated on “The Ingraham Angle,” adding that the left opposes whatever does not advance their agenda. He referred to Platner as a “tool” that no longer serves them.

KINGMAKER MAMDANI CALLS ON PLATNER TO ‘DROP OUT OF THE RACE’ AFTER RAPE ALLEGATION

Several prominent Democrats and progressives, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Rep. Ro Khanna, as well as Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, have withdrawn their support for Platner. This follows a rape accusation against him. A second allegation emerged 24 hours later, with a report from The Washington Post claiming Platner removed condoms during intercourse against his ex-girlfriend’s wishes.

These allegations have intensified problems in Platner’s campaign, which aims to challenge incumbent Senator Susan Collins. Platner’s team has denied all accusations, calling the latest claim “categorically false and politically motivated.” They did not respond to prior requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Republicans, including Bongino, have condemned Democrats for reversing their stance on Platner. “This is not about any principle whatsoever. It’s not about Platner’s position on women or taxes,” Bongino remarked. “This is about a simple power equation.”

Bongino insists that Platner served as a tool for the “collectivist communist left” to gain power, emphasizing that power was their only interest in supporting him.
