Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a kidnapping and robbery incident from February. The Tampa Police Department disclosed this development on Wednesday night. This arrest comes after six other individuals had previously been charged in association with a ‘targeted armed robbery’ on February 4.
Arnold surrendered to authorities and was held at the Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County. He faces charges of four counts each of kidnapping and armed robbery.
Incident Background
Authorities report Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where he occasionally stayed with co-defendants: Arianna Del Valle, 19; Jasmine Randazzo, 19; Lyndell Hudson II, 26; Christion Williams, 24; Boakai Hilton Jr., 23; and Freddie Hughes, 27. The property also housed other individuals during this period.
Investigators stated the alleged victims, three males in their late teens, were physically assaulted, held at gunpoint, and robbed in a residence located on North 46th Street in Tampa. After the assault, they were forced to leave the residence.
Theft and Retaliation
Reports indicate that on February 1, multiple personal belongings were stolen from Arnold’s Airbnb. Arnold suspected two of the three male victims but Tampa police later cleared them of involvement.
On February 3, Arnold, along with Hilton and Hughes, reported a theft of property valued over $250,000 to the Largo Police Department. Investigations allege that later that day, Arnold and Hilton coordinated with Del Valle and Randazzo to lure one of the alleged victims to an apartment.
Alleged Kidnapping and Assault
“We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We have no further comment at this time,” said an NFL spokesperson to Fox News Digital.
Upon the victims’ arrival on February 4, Williams and Hudson allegedly ambushed them from a bedroom closet. The victims were then reportedly held at gunpoint and assaulted.
The event was live-streamed by Del Valle to Arnold, Hilton, and Hughes during their travel to the apartment. Investigators also referenced a group chat where Arnold and Hilton supposedly directed the intruders.
Arnold, Hilton, and Hughes, joined by another individual, reportedly reached the apartment at around 1 a.m. Arnold allegedly led the group, with Hughes, Hudson, and Williams robbing the victims as the attack continued.
Afterward, the victims were forcibly taken from the apartment, driven away, and instructed to leave the scene. They reported the crime to Tampa police and identified the suspects involved.
Organizational Role and Football Career
Authorities alleged that Arnold was the key orchestrator of the scheme based on the evidence collected. Originally from Alabama, Arnold was drafted by the Detroit Lions as the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
This past season, despite suffering a shoulder injury that limited his play, Arnold managed to record his first career interception in a game against the Minnesota Vikings. During his rookie year in 2024, he played 16 games, achieving 10 passes defended and 60 tackles in total.
