Diane Farr Chooses a New Life in the Pacific Northwest

Diane Farr cherishes her Sundays after enduring long, 14-hour workdays. She spends time with friends, enjoys paddleboarding, e-biking, and embraces life by the water in the Pacific Northwest.

The star from “Fire Country” has made a significant life change. After her children left for college, Farr left Los Angeles and settled in rural Washington. Speaking to Fox News Digital, she explained her choice to relocate, expressing no longer feeling bound to California. She also plans to spend parts of the year in both Vancouver and Spain.

“I moved to rural Washington because I could purchase a lovely house at a relatively low cost compared to LA,” Farr said. Living by the water, she enjoys paddleboarding and e-biking in the stunning Pacific Northwest environment.

Farr plays Sharon Leone in “Fire Country,” which is shot in Vancouver. Her character is a Cal Fire Division Chief and mother to Bode Leone. The fifth season is set to start on October 9, 2026, airing Fridays at 9/8c on CBS and streaming the following day on Paramount+.

Diane Farr shared that her children’s move to college gave her the freedom to leave LA. “The permission came once my children were grown and moved away for college,” she noted. “I didn’t want to miss out when they were young.”

She discussed having her children later in life and cherishing the time spent with them. “After the pandemic, I saw 15 years had passed. I thought relocating to Vancouver was possible,” Farr added.

Farr emphasizes her “third act” focuses on maximizing joy. “My third act involves six months each year in Spain and Vancouver,” she explained, aiming to experience life fully.

At the end of July, Farr announced her departure from Los Angeles after three decades. She shared her journey from NYC to LA chasing her acting dream, which surprisingly succeeded. Her career took off with her role in “Roswell” in 1999, leading to other prominent roles, including “Numb3rs,” “Splitting Up Together,” and her latest show, “Fire Country.”

Reflecting on her LA years, Farr mentioned raising her children under sunny skies and attending public schools. “I’m grateful for the blessings I’ve had and hope I’ve given back enough,” she remarked, expressing that LA will always be a key part of her family’s history.

Farr remains a devoted mother to her three children with ex-husband Seung Yong Chung. They share Beckett, 18, and twin daughters Coco and Sawyer, 17.

Speaking about her character Sharon in the upcoming season of “Fire Country,” Farr revealed, “Last year involved a lot of grief for Sharon, but now she’s exploring new relationships. Her behavior is a bit reckless, reminiscent of her younger years.”

Farr concluded by saying, “This season, Sharon isn’t making the best choices.”
