Disney World enthusiasts are expressing their disappointment as iconic flat-topped trash cans are gradually replaced across the resort. These changes are occurring at the four theme parks and two water parks, starting this summer.
Known for their practical design, the flat-topped trash cans have become a staple for visitors who use them as tables when needed. The lovable receptacles have inspired merchandise as they are an iconic part of the Disney experience.
In late 2021, Skip Sher along with other devoted Disney fans chose a specific trash can outside a pub at Epcot’s United Kingdom Pavilion as a meeting spot. They gathered there for a day of enjoying drinks and agreed to reunite at the same location in the future. These cherished meeting points now face change with the introduction of new trash cans.
