Dolly Parton’s legacy lives on with the announcement of Dollyfest, a two-day festival planned in Nashville and London. The festival will commemorate the iconic singer and will be held across two consecutive weekends in 2027. Parton’s estate revealed this tribute following her death at the age of 80 due to cancer.
The festival was initially scheduled for January 2026, aligning with Parton’s 80th birthday. She was set to perform and host the event. However, due to her health challenges in August 2025, the event transitioned into a celebration of her enduring legacy.
Organizer Danny Nozell stated, “We had the venue booked and we had the announcement ready to go. Then, in August 2025, Dolly had to take a step back after her initial health challenges. Dollyfest now represents what Dolly would want – a festival style celebration dreamed up by Dolly herself.”
Nozell emphasized that while individuals are encouraged to celebrate Parton in their own ways, a traditional memorial was not her wish. The festival aligns more with creating an organic tribute reflective of her vibrant spirit.
A private service for Parton was held on Friday, attended solely by immediate family. There will not be a public ceremony, respecting Parton’s personal wishes.
Parton’s great-niece, Lainey Parton, expressed heartfelt admiration in an Instagram tribute. “From the time I was little, my granny made me feel like I was enough,” she wrote. “She believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself.”
Details regarding ticket availability and specific dates for Dollyfest will be announced soon.
