A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 64-year-old woman. Chicago police have reported the details surrounding this grim event.
According to authorities, the victim was a passenger in a dark-colored SUV traveling northbound on South Stony Island Avenue. The accident took place at approximately 2:42 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan collided with the SUV. Following the collision, the driver of the sedan abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
The woman in the SUV was pronounced dead at the crash site. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported during this tragic event. Currently, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still ongoing as police work to uncover further details.
