Felix Rosenqvist emerged victorious in the 110th Indianapolis 500, delivering a thrilling performance at the iconic race. Rosenqvist surpassed David Malukas with a remarkable final move, securing the race by a mere 0.023 seconds. This finish marked the closest in Indy 500 history.

As the driver for Meyer Shank with Curb-Agajanian Honda, Rosenqvist expressed his triumph at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 24, 2026. Scott McLaughlin claimed third place, while Pato O’Ward finished fourth, continuing his consistent performance in recent Indy 500 races.

Late in the race, Brazilian driver Caio Collet experienced a dramatic incident, crashing his vehicle with seven laps remaining. Collet’s overcorrection led to his car catching fire, though he exited without physical harm. The crash brought a temporary halt to the race, yet drivers were only allowed minor adjustments such as hydration and battery replacements.

“I felt like a sitting duck,” O’Ward remarked post-race, noting the challenges his vehicle faced compared to competitors.

When racing resumed with less than ten laps remaining, the competition intensified. Marcus Armstrong, Rosenqvist’s teammate, briefly took the lead. However, Malukas and others soon joined the fray, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion.

As the caution flag interrupted the momentum once more, the racers prepared for a final lap showdown. With the green flag waving, all contenders pushed to their limits. McLaughlin advanced to third, while Malukas appeared poised for victory.

Nevertheless, Rosenqvist executed a strategic maneuver to seize the lead, crossing the finish line first. The Swedish driver expressed gratitude to fans who endured adverse weather conditions for this memorable race.

Rosenqvist also shared the personal significance of this win, lamenting the absence of his wife, Emille, and their newborn daughter. The victory also marked an achievement for Meyer Shank Racing, following Hélio Castroneves’ previous win with the team.

This year’s Indy 500 provided a remarkable spectacle, further solidifying the race’s legendary status within motorsport.
