Former Arizona Candidate Arrested After Alleged Home Invasion

Phoenix police arrested Brianna Westbrook, a former Arizona Democratic congressional candidate, after an incident involving an ex-partner. Court documents indicate Westbrook forced entry into the ex-partner’s home with a knife and tape, claiming the situation was a misunderstanding related to a BDSM scene, which the victim denied agreeing to.

The police were called on July 10 at 6 p.m. by the victim, who initially believed it was her son at the door. However, she found Westbrook holding a knife and tape. A struggle ensued, during which the victim was pushed onto a couch. When the victim started screaming, her sister appeared, leading to Westbrook allegedly lunging at both women before fleeing.

Westbrook, an advocate for transgender rights and a former vice chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, later told officers it was all a misunderstanding. According to Westbrook, the encounter was a mutually planned BDSM scene organized through subliminal Instagram messages, a claim the victim contested.

Westbrook described going to the victim’s residence with a fake knife and tape, supposedly under the impression that they were to enact a scene to address past trauma. Westbrook claimed to have received a subliminal signal indicating readiness for the scene.

The victim, however, denied any agreement to such a scene, leading to charges against Westbrook. These include felony third-degree burglary, aggravated assault with a simulated deadly weapon, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Police records indicate Westbrook has a history of domestic violence, with an increasing pattern of incidents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday. Fox News Digital contacted Westbrook for comment.
