The New York Giants endured a challenging game against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. The game took a downturn early on when starting quarterback Jaxson Dart left with a sprained MCL in the first quarter.
Troubles mounted for the Giants shortly thereafter. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers experienced intense pain during an attempted reception from backup quarterback Jameis Winston. Medical staff quickly attended to Nabers on the sideline, listing him as questionable to return.
In a turn of fortune for the Giants, Nabers managed to make a return in the second quarter. After the game, the 23-year-old shared with reporters that he had popped his shoulder back into place before rejoining his team.
“My shoulder’s okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what’s going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost [Jaxson Dart], so I didn’t want to give the team another loss,” Nabers said postgame.
Though he returned to play, Nabers had little impact during his “Monday Night Football” appearance, making only one catch for one yard in the 28-6 defeat.
The Giants aim to regroup as they prepare for their Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday.
