Greene Compares Trump and Biden Families on Financial Gains

1 month ago 0

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was once a strong supporter of President Donald Trump, recently compared the financial gains of the Trump family to those of Hunter Biden. Speaking on The View, Greene referred to the financial growth of the Trump family since he returned to the White House in January 2025 as the type of ‘corruption’ she had criticized in the Biden family.

Trump Family’s Financial Disclosures

Recent financial disclosures concerning Trump have drawn increased attention to his business interests and those of his family. The New York Times reported that the Trump family earned over $1 billion from cryptocurrency businesses, with an additional $1 billion from other business interests, showing a significant increase from the prior year’s reported income.

House Republicans have accused members of the Biden family of receiving more than $10 million from foreign sources, which they argue was part of an influence-peddling scheme leveraging Joe Biden’s political position. Despite meetings and financial transactions highlighted by investigators, there is no evidence that Biden received foreign payments or altered U.S. policies for his family’s benefit.

Comments from Marjorie Taylor Greene

During her appearance on The View, Greene stated, “Oh, he’s making money, all right,” in response to a question about Trump’s financial gains. She expressed surprise at the scope of Trump’s earnings, adding, “Even Fox News had something to say about it. That’s pretty shocking.” While acknowledging Hunter Biden’s financial success during his father’s presidency, Greene described the Trumps’ increased earnings as “just wrong.”

Greene, once a leading ally of Trump in Congress, distanced herself from him over policy disagreements, resigning from Congress and becoming a vocal critic of his administration.

Trump’s Earnings while in Office

The Office of Government Ethics released a 927-page report detailing Trump’s substantial earnings, which amounted to billions from various business activities including stock trades, global real estate, and Trump-branded product royalties. Cryptocurrency ventures emerged as the most significant, with approximately $1.4 billion in revenue, primarily from World Liberty Financial and the $TRUMP meme coin.

Despite these gains, the administration dismissed concerns about any potential conflict of interest. White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly affirmed that neither Trump nor his family engaged in conflicts of interest, crediting Trump’s policies for making the U.S. a crypto leader.

Journalist Megyn Kelly criticized the Trump family for profiting from public office, likening their actions to what Hunter Biden was accused of. Despite this, she maintained support for the Trumps.

Hunter Biden’s Investigation

Hunter Biden’s involvement in a House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry alleged that the Biden family benefited from foreign business ventures. Although they received an estimated $10 million, investigations did not confirm any wrongdoing by Joe Biden.

Despite allegations, the House did not vote on impeachment, leaving Biden unimpeached.

Other Politicians in Focus

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has also faced criticism over her stock trades. Under the STOCK Act, her trades have been well-documented, with significant activity in the information technology sector.

Former Senator Robert Menendez was sentenced to 11 years in prison for accepting bribes, including money and gold, to benefit foreign nations while chairing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Menendez was found guilty on several charges, leading to his imprisonment in June 2025.
