Halle Berry is taking a break from her busy life for a tropical getaway before reaching her milestone 60th birthday. The 59-year-old actress recently shared Instagram photos from her time in Fiji, depicting serene mornings, relaxing by the pool, and walking along the sunset-lit beach.
In one photo, Berry posed near the shoreline wearing an animal-print cover-up over a black lace bodysuit as the sun set behind the ocean. The wrap had wide sleeves and tassel details, and her short hair blew gently as she smiled.
Berry’s caption on the post expressed a wistful note: “The only bad thing about this trip is that each day must come to an end.”
Another post shows her silhouetted beneath sheer fabric draped around a daybed, with the setting sun filtering through it. The scene included palm trees, an infinity pool, and the ocean in the background.
She also shared an image where she reclines alongside a pool in a gold bikini. A straw hat lays across her torso, and her arm adorned with rings and bracelets stretches over the wooden deck.
“We got drunk last night, and still drunk today,” Berry joked in another caption.
As she approaches 60, Berry reflects on aging in a candid manner. In a July interview on Hoda Kotb’s “Making Space” podcast, Berry commented on how turning 60 feels different from her initial expectations. She said, “When I was growing up, 60 felt old, and now it doesn’t feel old at all.” She expressed happiness at being at this stage in life.
Berry mentioned her current comfort and confidence: “I feel really great, better than I have in a long time. I feel more of myself.” Growing older has helped her let go of others’ expectations.
She spoke on no longer worrying about satisfying everyone else and feeling confident as often the oldest person in the room. “You get to do what you wanna do,” she noted.
Berry resisted stepping away from her career as she ages, affirming her intention to continue working in films. She challenges the notion that age should dictate career withdrawal. “Why should I now sit down and give that all away?” she asked, emphasizing the importance of purposeful work.
Berry advises her daughter Nahla to pursue work she loves, ensuring that work doesn’t have to feel like a chore. “Choose what you love so that you never feel like you want to retire,” she said, emphasizing staying connected and engaged in life through meaningful work.
