Hannes Steinbach: A Rising Star in the 2026 NBA Draft

1 month ago 0

The 2026 NBA draft is approaching, and Hannes Steinbach from Washington is gaining attention as a strong candidate among new talent. While teams like Duke and North Carolina often have players selected early, a Washington player’s rise in the draft is noteworthy.

On May 23, Zach Buckley from Bleacher Report shared his draft projections, placing Steinbach at No. 15 with the Chicago Bulls. Buckley emphasized that Steinbach could aid the Bulls in becoming more powerful and physical this season.

“Chicago’s effort to grow bigger, stronger, and more physical this summer would be furthered with this selection,” he states. “Steinbach absolutely aced the measuring-tape tests at the Combine, showing the right size-length combo (6’10” barefoot with a 7’2″ wingspan) and added bulk (248 pounds, up from 220 at the start of the college season).”

Steinbach’s rebounding prowess sets him apart. His ability to track rebounds on both ends, combined with his high energy, makes him valuable to any NBA team. Buckley highlights these traits as key factors in his potential success.

Offensively, Steinbach shows more skills than many expect. His strong and confident presence in the paint makes him challenging to defend. An area of growth for him is his outside shooting. If Steinbach continues to improve his perimeter shot, he could transform into a difficult matchup for opponents.
