1 week ago 0

The cause of actress Hayden Panettiere’s death has been determined by authorities in South Carolina. They have ruled her death was accidental, resulting from the toxic effects of several drugs. This conclusion provides clarity after weeks of public speculation about the passing of the former Heroes and Nashville star.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the substances involved as fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. These findings came after an autopsy showed no signs of trauma or foul play. There was no evidence of violence, confirming that drug toxicity was the cause.

Details of the Investigation

On August 16, a 911 call was received at 1:51 p.m. reporting cardiac arrest. Emergency personnel responded to a residence on Easley Bridge Road in Greenville, where they found Panettiere in cardiac arrest. Despite efforts with advanced life support, resuscitation attempts failed, and she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.

Officials stated that Panettiere was temporarily staying at the residence. A parallel investigation was launched by the coroner’s office and the Greenville City Police Department. The absence of traumatic injuries in the autopsy supported ruling out violent or external causes.

Toxicology Findings

Fentanyl, identified as contributing to her death, is recognized as a synthetic opioid with a significant role in the ongoing overdose crisis due to its high potency. The toxicology report also listed 4-ANPP, a chemical associated with fentanyl production.

Other substances found included alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. Alprazolam, marketed as Xanax, is prescribed for anxiety. Methocarbamol serves as a muscle relaxant, while quetiapine treats conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and major depressive disorder. Authorities did not disclose further details about dosage or how these drugs entered her system.

This story is a developing situation, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
