1 week ago 0

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has emphasized his commitment to addressing immigration issues with a focus on targeting major offenders. Speaking at the National Governors Association’s summer meeting, Mullin assured governors of a reduced ICE presence if their efforts succeed.

He stated, “Let’s work to get the worst of the worst off the streets and then you won’t see me in your cities and states as much.” This statement highlights his intention to minimize intervention by focusing resources on significant threats.

Mullin reinforced the importance of collaboration between the federal agency and local authorities. His comments reference a proactive approach led by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, which he oversees. The message indicates a shift towards strategic enforcement to reduce the need for widespread ICE activities.
