Recent Incident at University of Chicago

In a recent event, two individuals were shot and killed inside a vehicle on the University of Chicago campus. Reports indicate the victims, a 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were found on the 5900 block of South Ellis. The incident occurred near the Midway Plaisance Ice Skating Rink and Harper Quad around 5:35 p.m. Police reported both victims had gunshot wounds to the head, as per NBC 5 Chicago.

The man and the woman both died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Both victims were transported to the university hospital in critical condition but were later pronounced dead. It remains unclear if the victims had any connection to the university.

Images from the scene revealed that the vehicle had crashed, indicating it may have happened during or after the shooting. A firearm was recovered at the scene, according to police officials.

The Chicago Police Department states that the incident is still under investigation, and they cannot provide further details at this time. Fox News Digital has sought additional information from university police.
