Caitlin Clark delivered an impressive performance, scoring 37 points to lead the Indiana Fever to a decisive 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday night. Clark achieved a career-high, sinking eight of Indiana’s franchise-record 18 three-pointers. Her contribution didn’t stop there; she also provided 10 assists during the game.

The victory marked a successful conclusion to the Fever’s challenging schedule, wrapping up a 3-2 road trip which included three games played within four nights. Prior to this win, they had endured consecutive losses.

Natalie Cloud contributed 16 points and seven assists for the Chicago Sky, which had been on a three-game winning streak. Azura Stevens bolstered the team with 14 points and eight rebounds. Unfortunately, with this loss and Washington’s win on Sunday, the Sky were officially knocked out of the playoff contention.

Indiana Fever faced this game without the presence of their center, Aliyah Boston, due to a right leg injury. Boston previously showed significant effort, scoring 22 points and providing six assists in Saturday’s game against New York.

In the third quarter, the Fever employed a strong 13-2 run to establish a 71-60 lead. Clark initiated the momentum with a three-pointer and Kelsey Mitchell followed up by scoring eight consecutive points. Clark then completed the run with a jumper. Lexie Hull later added to the lead with a reverse layup, bringing the score to 97-82. Hull finished with 14 points, while Makayla Timpson contributed 12 for the Fever.

This match was notable as the first meeting between the teams since Indiana’s Sophie Cunningham was fouled by DiJonai Carrington during their previous encounter. In this game, Cunningham managed three points in over 11 minutes, while Carrington scored seven in her 18-minute appearance for the Sky.

Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom attended the game but was ejected during the third quarter after an altercation with Cloud. Freedom, alongside another former NBA player Royce White, has declared eligibility for the WNBA draft, expressing their identification as women.

Looking ahead, the Indiana Fever will be hosting the Connecticut Sun on Friday night, whereas the Chicago Sky will visit Connecticut on Tuesday night.
