Joe Biden’s Awkward Moment at Obama Library Dedication

2 weeks ago 0

Former President Joe Biden experienced an uncomfortable moment during the dedication ceremony for President Barack Obama’s presidential library. As the event concluded on Thursday, Biden appeared lost as he moved back toward the stage.

A video showed Biden removing his sunglasses and looking into the crowd while his wife, Jill Biden, and Obama left the stage. At one point, he called out for his granddaughter, who was in the audience, according to a source familiar with the situation.

“Where’s my granddaughter?” Biden shouted, pointing out his intention to locate her.

The event marked the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Attendees included former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former Vice President Kamala Harris, alongside other notable figures and entertainers.

This incident coincides with ongoing discussions about Biden’s health and his controversial decision to seek a second term in 2024. Hillary Clinton recently criticized Biden’s reelection bid, labeling it a “terrible mistake.” She speculated that Democrats might have fared better with a competitive primary process before the election.

“Very sadly, I believe whoever emerged from that contest, whether it was the vice president or a governor or a senator or anybody else, would have beaten Donald Trump,” Clinton expressed, noting the misstep by Biden.

Biden faced significant pressure from Democratic Party leaders to withdraw from the presidential race after a poor debate performance against Trump. Despite opinion articles and public calls for his withdrawal, Biden remained in the campaign for over three weeks post-debate.

Jill Biden, the former first lady, revealed her concerns over her husband’s performance against Trump in June 2024, fearing he might have suffered a stroke and suggesting he should not have pursued reelection.

The former president is embroiled in a legal conflict with the Justice Department over audio recordings of interviews conducted by former Special Counsel Robert Hur. These recordings touch on Biden’s handling of classified documents, further questioning his age and memory.

At 83, Biden is contending with Stage 4 prostate cancer, which has spread to his bones.
