During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, podcaster Joe Rogan voiced concerns about the U.S. military’s campaign against Iran. He claimed there is “no clear way” to end the conflict. Rogan spoke with journalist Annie Jacobsen, expressing fears about the military’s direction and sustainability. “Our stockpiles are running dry,” he mentioned, pointing out drone attacks on bases.

Rogan argued that U.S. actions have made America a target. “…It makes America an enemy,” he said, cautioning that such unprovoked attacks give others a reason to retaliate.

Rogan’s Criticism of Trump’s Strategy

Rogan’s remarks are part of a series of criticisms aimed at President Donald Trump’s handling of the Iranian conflict. Earlier this year, Rogan questioned the military strategy, calling it senseless and speculating about underlying motives. He suggested that the war has exposed America’s military vulnerabilities, with alleged drone attacks and dwindling weapon supplies being key concerns.

Robert Y. Shapiro, a political science professor at Columbia, noted the potential impact of Rogan’s comments on Trump’s supporter base. Shapiro highlighted the war’s unfulfilled outcomes, viewing Rogan’s words as an indication of a growing skepticism among American conservatives and independents.

Shifts in Public Opinion

Public support for Trump’s Iran policy has declined, as highlighted by recent polls. A Quinnipiac University poll showed only 34% of voters support military action, while 60% oppose it. Among independents, 26% support and 69% oppose it. Trump’s overall approval on Iran is at 28%, with a 66% disapproval rate, marking a noticeable decline since earlier surveys.

A YouGov/The Economist poll echoed this sentiment with 31% approval and 59% disapproval. Rogan’s critique gains significance due to his previous support for Trump and his reach among influential audiences.

Ongoing Conflict Dynamics

Despite diplomatic efforts, tensions with Iran remain high. According to the Associated Press, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps recently attacked two oil tankers. Additionally, Kuwait reported drone interceptions, indicating potential escalation in the region.
