Juan Soto’s Injury Adds to Mets’ Challenges

3 weeks ago 0

The New York Mets’ injury struggles continue with another setback as star player Juan Soto had to exit a game. The Mets faced the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday evening, a team recently recognized at the White House.

During the game, actress Emma Stone was seen filming a movie at the ballpark. She conversed with Soto before the game commenced, which appeared to be a highlight for the player.

However, the evening took a downturn when Soto had to leave in the sixth inning due to calf soreness, an issue that the Mets have been monitoring. This injury was first noticed on July 16 and has required previous rest for Soto earlier in the week.

Interim manager Andy Green mentioned before the game that Soto’s condition was improving and hoped the injury wouldn’t surface again. Yet, after the game, fans shared their concerns on social media about the ongoing problem.

Soto, who earned the distinction of being the Mets’ sole All-Star this season, is vital to the team’s lineup. He has maintained a .283 batting average over 84 games with 83 hits and 21 home runs. Soto is in the second year of a notable 15-year contract worth $765 million, signed in December 2024.
