Last week, Justin Herbert, quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, and pop star Madison Beer revealed their engagement. Their announcement resonated with fans, amassing 6.5 million likes on Instagram. The couple also displayed their affection at the Chargers’ training camp at the University of San Diego on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
A Madison Beer fan account shared a video on X, capturing the duo on the field. In the clip, Beer is seen stroking Herbert’s hair as they gaze into each other’s eyes. Herbert, known for being reserved since joining the NFL as the sixth overall pick in 2020, allows his actions to speak volumes. As one X user remarked, “Being in love wouldn’t describe this. This is like 3 levels above that.”
The couple first ignited relationship rumors last August when Herbert visited Beer on a set. They were spotted together at a Los Angeles Lakers game in October, although neither initially confirmed their relationship. Herbert finally acknowledged their bond by celebrating Beer as “my favorite person of all time” on her birthday in March via his Instagram Story.
In May, Herbert starred with Beer in her “Lovergirl” music video. He also showed his support by skipping a voluntary Chargers workout to attend Beer’s tour later that month.
Off the field, Herbert continues to seek playoff success. As he enters his seventh NFL season, he is still looking for his first playoff win. The last appearance saw Herbert and the Chargers face a tough loss to the New England Patriots, with Herbert being sacked six times during the AFC wild card. The Chargers aim to end a seven-year playoff absence starting with hosting the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 13.
