According to Tom Pelissero of The Ringer, Justin Tucker was among three kickers who tried out for the New York Jets on Wednesday. The others were Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty. Tucker has a reputation as one of the NFL’s greatest kickers but has not played since 2024. He missed last season after a 10-game suspension for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
In January 2025, allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior surfaced against Tucker. Sixteen female massage therapists accused him of misconduct during sessions between 2012 and 2016 in Baltimore. Consequently, the Baltimore Ravens released Tucker in May, ending his 13-year tenure with the team.
JUSTIN TUCKER AND WIFE SPEAK OUT AMID MORE ALLEGATIONS FROM MASSAGE THERAPISTS: OUTKICK E FILE
Tucker has not faced criminal charges or civil suits over these allegations. He strongly denies any wrongdoing. Tucker, his wife Amanda, and his legal team offered statements to OutKick, aiming to discredit the allegations.
Tucker’s legal team cited an email from an accuser stating, “a pleasure working with you,” after canceling a spa membership in 2016. This information, however, does not conclusively prove his innocence.
The situation draws comparisons to Deshaun Watson, who faced multiple accusations of misconduct from massage therapists and settled 23 civil suits. Watson served an 11-game suspension in 2022. Despite the allegations, the Cleveland Browns signed him to a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract. However, Watson’s performance has declined since then.
The Ravens chose to release Tucker, placing his NFL future in uncertainty. He turns 37 in November and is coming off his worst season statistically, converting only 73.3% of his field goals in 2024.
Though Tucker’s skill set is still superior to several kickers in the league, the weight of the allegations and his recent performance affects his prospects. He previously worked out for the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, but neither team signed him.
OutKick reached out to Tucker for a comment on Wednesday but received no response. Updates will follow as new information becomes available.
