Senator Mitch McConnell shared a recent photograph from a rehabilitation center. The image served as proof of his well-being following a period of absence and rising speculation.

On Monday’s “Daily Show,” Jon Stewart humorously addressed the image of McConnell sitting next to his wife. Stewart described it as “totally believable evidence that Mitch McConnell is not only alive, but the happiest boy in the hospital.” He went further with a biting remark, “That’s the smile of a Make-a-Wish kid whose wish was that everyone else in the hospital lost their health insurance due to his [expletive] policies.”

Ike Barinholtz, guest-hosting on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” lightened the mood with a remark, “First of all, thank God he’s still hot as hell.” Jimmy Fallon joined in with his quip, “Yeah, nothing says perfect health like having someone hold you up when you’re already sitting. Jon Stewart tackled the topic of the late Senator Lindsey Graham humorously, “Now, a lot of you may be wondering, as I was, how the [expletive] did Lindsey Graham die before Mitch McConnell?”

Ike Barinholtz reflected on the weekend’s events, “What a crazy weekend. Mitch McConnell is alive, Lindsey Graham is dead. There’s so many opportunities to get Jimmy’s show pulled off the air again.”

In a phone interview on “Fox and Friends,” President Trump offered his tribute to Graham. He noted that the late senator frequently called him and mentioned he’d often say, “Stop calling me, Lindsey.” Seth Meyers humorously added, “What a touching tribute. Very rare for the person giving the eulogy to say, ‘I wish I’d talked to him less.’”

Jon Stewart mimicked Trump’s sentiment with, “I’ll never forget the way that I always let him go to voice mail. It was our thing.” He then suggested the president skipped the typical stages of grief straight to “[expletive] that guy.”

Ike Barinholtz added, “We all grieve in different ways. You know, there are stages to grief — it’s denial, anger, spacing out, pissing yourself, forgetting what you were talking about, then changing the subject completely. It’s a process.”
